Ogmundarjokull Glacier: Size, Ice Caves, Cap and Volcanoes

Ogmundarjokull is an outlet glacier in the western area of Iceland. This glacier covers the tongue of the largest table mountain in Iceland, which is the Eiríksjökull ice cap. The glacier has a terrain elevation of 3,772.97 ft and GPS coordinates of 64.7797° N and 20.3469° W. The Ogmundarjokull location is situated in the south of Klofajökull and east of Eiríksjökull. 

The glacier of Ogmundarjokull is around the village of Reykholt in the valley of Reykholtsdalur which is part of Borgarfjörður, Western Region of Iceland. It is near the glaciers Bækur and  Klofajökull. Additionally, it is near the streams of Flosagil and Hafragil. The glacier is close to the mountains of Þrístapafell, Strútur, and Hafrafell mountains in the west highlands of Iceland. 

The distance from Reykjavík to Ogmundarjokull is 64.62 miles. Tourists can visit the glacier through the climbing trails of Eiríksjökull around the Borgarfjordur district.
