Morsárjökull has given Iceland a bittersweet record. As the glacier retreated, it exposed a 227-meter cliff face that became Morsárfoss—Iceland's tallest waterfall, first documented in 2007. The glacier's retreat continues to reshape the Morsárdalur valley in Skaftafell, creating new landscape features that emerge from beneath the melting ice.
