February gives you more daylight as the month progresses, but it remains a winter trip. Choose your dates and overnight stops before deciding how many outdoor stops can fit.

## More light, still winter

A late-February itinerary should not inherit the same sightseeing window as an early-February one. Look up sunrise and sunset for the exact dates and locations, then leave room for meals, slower travel and the return journey.

For a guided glacier or cave day, distinguish the meeting point from the ice itself. Ask how much time is spent transferring, walking and on the glacier, and whether your group meets the age, footwear and mobility requirements.

## What to keep within reach

Keep a spare dry layer and socks accessible. Choose outerwear you can wear over insulation and handle zips with gloves on. Carry what you need for the whole excursion even if the hotel is warm at departure.
