# Hrunalaug: Tiny Historic Hot Pot Near Flúðir

Updated September 10, 2026 · [Published by Iceland.org](<https://www.iceland.org/about-us>) · [Writing & review](<https://www.iceland.org/editorial-policy#credits>)

Hrunalaug is a privately operated hot spring near Flúðir with three pools. Plan around admission and opening hours; it is no longer adequately described as an unattended donation-box stop.

## Price changes at 2 pm

The [owner’s tariff](<https://hrunalaug.is/>), checked September 10, 2026, lists adults at 3,000 ISK before 2 pm and 3,500 ISK afterward. Ages 11–15 cost 2,000 or 2,500 ISK, while children 10 and under are free. Ordinary visits are limited to 90 minutes.

## Use the current facilities

A new changing facility opened in 2026, with lockers, toilets and showers. The owner states that wheelchair access is not available. Confirm any specific access needs before the trip.

## Arrive during opening hours

September and October hours are listed as 9 am–9 pm. Access outside opening hours is prohibited, so arriving before dawn is not a way to secure an ordinary visit. Check the website for the schedule and any water-supply notices on your date.

The three pools reflect different uses over time: household washing, sheep bathing and a more recent visitor pool. Compare nearby [Secret Lagoon](<https://www.iceland.org/hot-springs/secret-lagoon>) if you want another option around Flúðir.
