## Quick Answer

Thingeyri is a village on Dyrafjordur with the Sandafell viewpoint walk, a historic machine workshop and Simbahollin cafe. Check seasonal opening before a detour.

Thingeyri sits beside Dyrafjordur, with Sandafell rising above the village. Allow time here between longer drives: the hill walk, workshop and cafe each have a different reason to stop.

Starting in the village adds distance. The viewpoint has a panel identifying the surrounding landmarks.

[Simbahollin](<https://www.simbahollin.is/>) occupies a 1915 grocery store with much of its shop interior preserved. Its 2026 notice lists daily hours of 10:00–17:00 from June 1, with the closing date in early September still to be announced when checked September 10.
