The [municipal pool page](<https://lifid.isafjordur.is/is/ithrottir-tomstundir/sundlaugar/sundlaugin-a-sudureyri>), checked September 10, 2026, lists winter hours from August 23: Monday 17:00–20:00, Tuesday–Thursday 16:00–19:00, Friday closed, and weekends 11:00–17:00. A weekday morning arrival therefore leaves a long wait for a swim. Confirm holiday changes at +354 450 8490.

The facility has an outdoor swimming pool, two hot tubs and a paddling pool. The municipality also lists a gym and sports hall. Its summer timetable starts June 2 and runs daily 11:00–20:00; that longer daily opening should not be used to plan an autumn visit.

[Iceland’s Marine and Freshwater Research Institute](<https://www.hafogvatn.is/is/midlun/fyrir-skola/fjardarannsoknir/vestfirdir/sugandafjordur>) places Sugandafjordur north of Onundarfjordur. Sudureyri and Flateyri are separate fjord stops, so plan the road connection between them instead of expecting to look across one fjord from one village to the other.
