The Center for Icelandic Art has opened a new website, cia.is. This website is a venue for Icelandic artists to present their work and facilitate contact with artists in other countries. It entails information on Icelandic art museums and art organizations, and a database on Icelandic artists.

According to a recent press release from the Icelandic Bureau of Statistics, 515 Americans are now registered as living in Iceland. The number of Americans in Iceland has been somewhat stable over the last 10 years, with 595 US citizens registered in Iceland 1994. This is in contrast to the general increase of foreigners in Iceland, but their number has gone up from 1,8% to 3,6% of the total population in the last decade. Currently, 10,636 citizens of foreign countries were livign in Iceland in 2004.
