Memoirs of an Icelandic Bookworm, a new book by Jóna E. Hammer is a first-hand and humorous account of Icelandic culture and an Icelandic childhood. The writer's memoirs, mostly describing Iceland in the 1940's and 50's, are presented alongside colourful Icelandic folktales, many of which have never been translated into English before.
