Icelandic Independence Day (1 December) celebrated 26.11.2005
Íslendingafélagid heldur fullveldisdaginn hátídlegan med menningarsamkomu í
Sendirádi Íslands, laugardaginn 26. nóvember. Húsid opnar kl. 15:00 og
dagskrá hefst um 15:30. Vilborg Davíðsdóttir rithöfundur mun lesa upp úr
nyútkomnu verki sínu Hrafninn. Júlía Mogensen sellóleikari mun spila verk
eftir Bach og íslenski kórinn í London mun flytja tónlist undir stjórn
Margrétar Sigurdardóttur. Léttar veitingar verda á bodstólum. Tekid skal
fram ad dagskráin fer fram á ensku og íslensku.
The Icelandic Society celebrates the Icelandic Independence Day with a
programme of culture at the Icelandic Embassy on Saturday 26th November. The
programme commences at 15:30. The writer Vilborg Davíðsdóttir will read
from her latest novel. Music will be performed by Júlía Mogensen Celloist,
and the Icelandic choir in London will sing, conducted by Margrét
Sigurðardóttir. Light refreshments will be provided. The programme will be
conducted in both Icelandic and English.
