23.4.2008 : Italian-Icelandic Business Day in Milan on the 26th of May, 2008

The Embassy of Iceland in Rome and the Icelandic/Italian Chamber of Commerce (IICC) will hold a high level business and investment event in the Palazzo Marino in Milan on 26th May 2008, in cooperation with various Icelandic and Italian institutions and companies, including the City of Milan and Chamber of Commerce of Milan. The date was chosen in relation to the first direct flight of Icelandair from Keflavik to Milan this year on 24th May. >>>

22.8.2007 : Scholars in the field of humanities can now apply for the Snorri Sturluson Icelandic Fellowships

The Árni Magnússon Institute for Icelandic Studies has started accepting applications for the Snorri Sturluson Icelandic Fellowships for 2008. 21.8.2007 : Jónas Haraldsson, a new employee at the Permanent mission

Jónas HaraldssonOn the 15th of August Mr Jónas Haraldsson took up the role of temporary officer at the permanent mission. Previously he was employed as a foreign news reporter for Vísir, Bylgjan and Stöð tvö. He also taught African politics and history at the University of Iceland. >>>

Steingrímur Eyfjörð was Iceland's choice for the Venice Biennale this year. Mr Guðni Bragason, Minister and Chargé d´Affaires in Italy, addressed the opening of the exhibition of works by Mr Eyfjörð on behalf of Ms Ingibjörg Sólrún Gísladóttir, the Minister for Foreign affairs of Iceland. Their latest venture is organizing a general meeting of the chamber this winter. The Business service of the foreign ministry partakes in the effort.
