Presentation of credentials in Wellington
On 2 May Ambassador Gunnar Snorri Gunnarsson presented his credentials to Governor-General Anyand Satyanand as Ambassador of Iceland to New Zealand with residence in Beijing. Chris Carter, Minister for Conservation represented the New Zealand Government on that occasion. After talks with Foreign Ministry officials in Wellington on cooperation in the UN context and Iceland's bid for a seat on the UN Security Council in 2009-2010 Ambassador Gunnarsson visited Iceland's Honorary Consuls in Nelson and Auckland.
