Icelandic contemporary music in Beijing
Kitchen Motors take part in NO+CH 07
The Icelandic band Kitchen Motors (http://this.is/kitchenmotors/), one of the most active bands in the Icelandic cultural scene, will make their first ever appearance in China during the first week of October. The band will play in concerts in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou, as part of the NOTCH07 music festival.
NOTCH07 attempts to introduce contemporary Nordic culture in a wider spectrum to the Chinese audience, with artists coming from all 5 Nordic countries, representing all music genre such as mixed free jazz, improvisation, electro-acoustic, avant-garde folk, sound art, avant garde rock, Nordic female vocal and trendy electronica, plus visual culture that kindles the music.
Kitchen Motors were founded by Kira Kira, Jóhann Jóhannsson and Hilmar Jensson. Their China debut is in Yugongyishan Live House on 4 October at 8:00 pm.
