Meeting with Mr. Zhou Ji, Minister of Education
On 24 April, Ambassador Gunnarsson and Counsellor Nikulasson paid a courtesy call on Mr. Zhou Ji, the Chinese Minister of Education. Mr. Zhou visited Iceland last year as he accompanied State Councillor, Madame Chen Zhili. Discussions at the meeting centered around the prospects of Icelandic being taught at a Chinese University, and cooperation between the Vigdís Finnbogadóttir Institute for Foreign Languages at University of Iceland and Chinese Universities. The possibility of establishing a Confucius Institute in Iceland in cooperation with Ningbo University in Zhejiang Province was also discussed.
