Two Icelandic adoption groups arrived in China this summer
This summer two Icelandic adoption groups arrived in China. Both groups went down to Nanchang in Jiangxi Province to meet their adopted children, though from two different orphanages. 5 girls were adopted by the first group and 3 girls by the latter group. All girls were born in summer of last year.
The Icelandic Adoption Society and the Chinese Adoption Agency organized the adoption process and have now arranged adoption for a total of 8 groups of parents from Iceland and 47 children since May 2002 when the cooperation started.
Representatives from the Embassy of Iceland met the parents and children of the two groups at receptions hosted by the Minister Councilor on August 2. and 16.
