Focus on ICCC activities at a Reykjavík meeting
The ICCC- meeting took place at the headquarters of the Trade Council of Iceland with some 35 people attendees, including representatives of Icelandic businesses, ICCC officials and honourary consuls of Iceland in Canada. The Ambassadors to both countries were also present.
Gordon J. Reykdal, president of the ICCC and Walter Sopher, vice-president, gave introductary reports on the history, aims and results of the ICCC so far. They accentuated the necessity to reinforce the links with the Icelandic business community in order to pave the way for more varied activities in the future on a dynamic bilateral basis.
In his speech, Ambassador Markús Örn Antonsson emphasised the urgent need to get direct air services between Iceland and Canada resumed, since all facets of modern business relations and human connections in general depended on frequent and direct air links encompassing passenger flights and transport of cargo.
