The Musical Festival Prague Premieres 2007
The Musical Festival Prague Premieres 2007 will be held in the Czech Republic 23.03 – 01. 04. This year the festival will be focused on Nordic contemporary music. The Icelandic composers Atli Heimir Sveinsson, Jón Nordal, Anna Sigríður Þorvaldsdóttir and Atli Ingólfsson will have their works on the festival this year.
During the festival Atli Heimir’s fourth symphony will be world premiered. It should be noted that Atli Heimir wrote the symphony while staying with Iceland’s honorary general consul, Þórir Gunnarsson and his wife, Ingibjörg Jónsdóttir. The couple have ardently worked to promote Icelandic art in the Czech Republic, and have even opened an art centre on their property, intended for the use of Icelandic artists to work on their creations.
