Contemporary Nordic Art Show
The art show is a comprehensive exhibition presenting the works of more than 30 Nordic artists and is one of the most ambitious artistic initiatives in the region for the past 100 years.

Voting rights of Icelandic citizens registered as living abroad for 8 years or longer.
All Icelandic citizens who have been registered as living abroad for more than 8 years will be automatically deleted from all voters’ lists as of 1st of December 2006 according to national laws. Those citizens who wish to vote in the parliamentary elections 2007 will therefore need to apply to be reinstated on the voter’s list by 1st of December 2006 in order to preserve their voting rights.

New Icelandic Minister for Foreign Affairs
Former Minister of Industry and Commerce, Mrs.Valgerður Sverrisdóttir, took office on the 15th of June as Minister for Foreign Affairs. Former Foreign Minister Mr. Geir H. Haarde, took office same day as Prime Minister.
